8. TRANSPORTING
Trailering
STEERING FRICTION
When trailering or transporting the
boat with the motor attached, it is
recommended that the motor remain
in the normal run position. Tighten
the steering friction adjuster se-
curely lo stop the motor's side to
side tiovement.
If there is insufficient road clearance
with the motor in the normal run po-
sition, then trailer the motor in the
tilted position using a motor support
bar (refer to your motor support bar
manufacturer's instructions) or re-
move the motor from the boat.
Close the fuel cap vent knob (refer
to page 27).
Disconnect the fuel coupling from
the outboard motor (refer to page
35).
Horizontal Transport
CASE PROTECTORS
Before removing the motor from the
boat, drain the carburetors. Follow
the carburetor drain procedure on
page 94.
Always rest the motor on the case
protectors and be sure to protect it
from impact and damage.
