    KNOW YOUR BLOWER See Figure 1. Before attempting to use this product, familiarize yourself with all operating features and safety rules. BLOWER TUBE AND NOZZLE The blower tube and nozzle can be assembled and installed on the blower using no tools. CRUISE CONTROL / THROTTLE LOCK The cruise control (throttle lock) feature allows you to oper- ate the blower without continuously holding the throttle...
  • Page 8 WARNING: Stop the engine and disconnect the spark plug wire before installing parts, making adjustments, cleaning, or when not in use. Failure to do so could result in possible serious personal injury. ASSEMBLING THE BLOWER TUBES See Figure 2. n Screw the nozzle onto the upper blower tube and tighten securely.

    WARNING: Do not allow familiarity with tools to make you care- less. Remember that a careless fraction of a second is sufficient to inflict serious injury. WARNING: Always wear safety goggles or safety glasses with side shields when operating this tool. Failure to do so could result in objects being thrown into your eyes resulting in possible serious injury.
  • Page 10 STARTING AND STOPPING See Figure 3. Starting the product differs depending on whether the engine is cold or warm. TO START A COLD ENGINE: n Place the blower on a flat, bare surface. n Make sure cruise control is locked in the IDLE position. Do not engage the throttle trigger or cruise control during the start-up process.
  • Page 11 n Operate blower at the lowest possible throttle speed to do the job. n Check your equipment before operation, especially the muffler, air intakes, and air filters. n Use rakes and brooms to loosen debris before blowing. n In dusty conditions, slightly dampen surfaces when water is available.

    WARNING: When servicing, use only identical Homelite replacement parts. Use of any other parts may create a hazard or cause product damage. WARNING: Always wear safety goggles or safety glasses with side shields during power tool operation or when blowing dust.
