Preparing for surround sound
To enable you to obtain optimum enjoyment from the receiver's lrstenrng
modes, make sure to complete the speaker settings (subwoofer. front,
center, and surround speakers) as described &low.
For V&615
(HTB model), do not select "LRG" (large) for front, center,
and surround speakers as this will cause the speakers to malfunction

a Turn on the power to this receiver by pressing POWER ON/
STANDBY 0 (for VR-605/615) or POWER ON/OFFend ON/
STANDBY 0 (for KRF- V506OD/V406OD/V556OL7) or POWER 0
key.
0 Press the SET UP key to enter the SET UP mode and use the
0 UsetheMULTlCONTROLknoborkeystoselecttheappropriate
MU1 Tl CONTROL knob or keys for the following
displays.

The flow of the SET UP IS as follows,
If you selected "LRG" as the front speakers setting,

speaker

connected to the receiver.

: A large center speaker is connected to
the receiver
3' CNTR OFF
: Center speaker settrng mode to the
receiver IS OFF.

B Select a speaker system.
0 Select SP SETUP and press the SET UP key again so that the
subwoofer
setting
indication
"SUBW ON" appears.
e Use the MULTI
CONTROL
knob
or keys to select
the
appropriate
subwoofer
setting.
ii SUBW ON : Subwoofer setting mode to the receiver IS ON.
C? 2 SUBW OFF : Subwoofer setting mode to the recerver is OFF.

The rnrtral settrng IS "SUBW ON"

When the setting "SUBW OFF" IS selected, the front speakers
are automatrcally set to "FRNT LRG" and the procedure skrps to
step 0.
Before step 0, press the SET UP key to accept the setting.

Whensubwooferoutput
sound IS requrred, select "FRNTNML".
0 Press the SET UP key to accept the setting.
*The front speakers settrng Indication "FRNT LRG" appears.
0 UsetheMULTlCONTROLknoborkeystoselecttheappropriate
front speakers setting.

connected to the receiver.
2' FRNT LRG (large)
: Large front speakers are connected to
the receiver

For VR-615 (HTB model), do not select "LRG" (large) for front
speaker as thus wrll cause the speaker to malfunction.

For"FRNTLRG"selectron.

speaker even when It IS set to ON. However, if you select
CINEMA EQ when subwoofer is selected, you wrll be able to
hear sound from the subwoofer.
When in STEREO mode, thesound goesdirectlytofrontspeaker.
0 Press the SET UP key to accept the setting.
*The center speaker setting indrcatron "CNTR" appears.

For VR-615 (HTB model), do not select "LRG" (large) for center
speaker as thus wrll cause the speaker to malfunctron.
If you selected "NML"
as the front speakers setting,

@ Press the SET UP key again to accept the setting.
*The surround speaker settrng rndrcation "SURR" appears.

to select

appropriate
surround
speaker setting.
If you selected "LRG" as the center speaker setting,

speakers are
connected to the receiver
2 SURR LRG (large)
: Largesurroundspeakersareconnected
to the recerver.
3 SURROFF
: Surround speaker settrng mode to the
recetver IS OFF.
