iNiTial SerViCiNg
The engine must be checked for proper lubrication and
filled with fuel prior to operation. Refer to the manufacturer's
engine manual for instructions and details of operation and
servicing.
1. Muffler — Used to reduce noise and emissions.
WarNiNg
Engine components can generate extreme
heat. To prevent burns, Do NoT touch
these areas while the engine is running or
immediately after operating. NeVer operate
the engine with the muffler removed.
2. air Cleaner — Prevents dirt and other debris from
entering the fuel system. Unsnap air filter cover to gain
access to filter element.
3. Fuel Tank — Five gallon capacity; use unleaded
gasoline.

Add fuel to the tank only when the engine
is stopped and has had an opportunity to
cool down. In the event of a fuel spill, Do
NoT attempt to start the engine until the fuel
residue has been completely wiped up and
the area surrounding the engine is dry.

4. Fuel Filler Cap — Remove this cap to add unleaded
gasoline to the fuel tank. Make sure cap is tightened
securely. Do NoT overfill.
5. Fuel Filter — Filters fuel for contaminants.
6. oil Drain Bolt — Remove to drain crankcase oil.
7. oil Filter — Spin-on type, filters oil for contaminants.
8. Spark plug — Provides spark to the ignition system.
Set spark plug gap to 0.028 - 0.031 inch (0.6 - 0.8 mm).
Clean spark plug once a week.
9. rollover Valve — Prevents the fuel from leaking from
the tank in the event of a rollover.
10. oil Filler Cap — Remove to add engine oil.
11. lifting eye — Provided for use when the removal/
installation of the engine becomes necessary.
12. oil Dip Stick — Remove to check amount and
condition of oil in crankcase.
13. Starter Solenoid — Starts engine when ignition key
is rotated to the ON position.
