Setup

Setup consists of the following steps.

• Step 1: Back up the RD-700GX's data

• Step 2: Install the included expansion board

• Step 3: Use the included USB memory to update the RD-700GX
• Step 4: Check the version
Step 1: Back Up the RD-700GX's Data
If this update occurs normally, user data such as the settings and songs stored in the RD-700GX will not be lost. However, as a
safeguard against unexpected accidents, we recommend that you make a note of these settings or save them to USB memory
before you perform the update.
Before you perform the update, save the following data to USB memory.
• Setup file (Save to USB memory as described in the Owner's Manual, p. 123 and following.)
• Songs saved in the RD-700GX's internal memory (Save to USB memory as described in the Owner's Manual, p. 124 and
following.)
* The included USB memory contains the update program . Do not format (initialize) this USB memory or delete any of the
files it contains .
Step 2: Install the Included Expansion Board
* To avoid the risk of damage to internal components that can be caused by static electricity, please carefully observe the
following whenever you handle the board .
• Before you touch the board, always first grasp a metal object (such as a water pipe), so you are sure that any static electricity
you might have been carrying has been discharged.
• When handling the board, grasp it only by its edges. Avoid touching any of the electronic components or connectors.
• Save the bag in which the board was originally shipped, and put the board back into it whenever you need to store or
transport it.
* Always turn the unit off and unplug the power cord before attempting installation of the circuit board (RD-700GX
SuperNATURAL Piano Kit) .
* Install only the specified circuit board(s) (RD-700GX SuperNATURAL Piano Kit) . Remove only the specified screws .
* Turn off your RD-700GX .
1. Use the supplied screwdriver to remove the cover located on the
rear of your RD-700GX .
2. Insert the Expansion Board connector into a connector for an SRX
Series slot, while simultaneously inserting the board holders into
the holes in the Expansion Board .
* Do not touch any of the printed circuit pathways or connection terminals .
* Never use excessive force when installing a circuit board . If it doesn't fit
properly on the first attempt, remove the board and try again .
3. Use the supplied Installation Tool to turn the holders in the LOCK
direction, so the board will be fastened in place .
(To remove the Expansion Board, turn the board holders in the UNLOCK
direction, and lift up the board.)
* When circuit board installation is complete, double-check your work .
4. Using the screws removed in Step 1, refasten the cover in its original position .
