Hygiene programmes
In the Hygiene programmes the temperature is held constant for a longer period
of time to deactivate micro-organisms, e.g. bacteria or house dustmites, and also
to reduce the number of allergens in the laundry.
These programmes should not be interrupted as this would prevent the
micro-organisms from being deactivated.

Cottons hygiene

Normal
Use for
Cottons and linen fabrics which are in direct contact with the skin, e.g.
underwear, nappies, towelling, bed linen, pillow and mattress covers.
Tip
Only for drying fabrics which can withstand higher temperatures and
which have the q symbol on the care label.
Minimum iron hygiene
Normal
Use for
Minimum iron items made of synthetic or mixed fibre, e.g. skirts, shirts
and blouses.
Tip
Only for drying fabrics which can withstand higher temperatures and
which have the q symbol on the care label.
Timed drying hygiene
Use for
– 6 kg* of items made of cotton or linen fabric.
– 3 kg* of minimum iron items made of synthetic or mixed fibre.
– For airing individual items of laundry which are already dry or for
deactivating lice, dustmites and micro-organisms in washable
materials which are suitable for drying in a tumble dryer, e.g.
stuffed toys, and which have the q symbol on the care label.
Tip
– Do not select the longest drying time to start with. Check the items
as you are drying them to find the optimum time.
