What is Time Lapse Video?
• A normal VCR records 60 fields per second, while
this time lapse VCR records in a range from 4.6 to
8.6 fields per second. Through reduction of the
number of fields recorded per second, this VCR is
capable of recording for extended periods of time
on a standard video tape (up to a maximum of 26
hours).
• As a result, this VCR is extremely useful for long-
term monitoring or recording events that take
place slowly (such as the blooming of a flower).
• If a tape that has been recorded in time lapse
mode is played back in the normal two-hour mode,
the speed of the tape will be increased 7 to 13
times, depending on the speed the original
recording was made at, so that the slow changes
that were recorded can be viewed at a much
faster speed.
