Activating/deactivating the ringtone
You can turn off the ringer on your handset
before you take a call or while the phone is in
the idle state. You can take a call so long as it is
displayed on the screen.

Advisory tones

Your handset uses advisory tones to tell you
about different activities and statuses. The fol-
lowing tones can be activated and deactivated
independently of each other:

Advisory tones:
– Key beep: Each key press is acknowl-
edged.

– Confirmation beep (a rising tone
sequence): at the end of the entry/set-
ting, when the handset is placed in the
charging cradle and when a new entry
arrives on the calls list.
– Error beep (descending tone sequence):
when you make an incorrect entry.
– Menu end tone: when scrolling at the
end of a menu.

Battery warning tone: the battery requires
charging.
You cannot deactivate the confirmation tone
for placing the handset in the charging cradle.
