Additional information
If your PAL TV does not have a V-Hold control,
you may not be able to watch NTSC discs
because of picture roll. If the TV has a V-Hold
control, adjust it until the picture stops
rolling.
On some TVs, the picture may shrink
vertically, leaving black bands at the top and
bottom of the screen. This is not a
malfunction; it is caused by the NTSC to PAL
conversion.

Child Lock

• Default setting: Lock Off
This system has a child lock feature that
makes the front panel buttons and controls
inoperative. This is useful when you've set the
wake-up timer and don't want the system
switched on before it activates.

Switch the system into standby.

Press SYSTEM SETUP (SHIFT + HOME
MENU).

Use the
(cursor left/right)
buttons to select 'Child Lock?', then press
ENTER.

Use the
(cursor up/down)
buttons to select 'Lock On?' or 'Lock Off?'.

Press ENTER to confirm.

Changing the clock format

• Default setting: 12–Hour
You can choose to display the clock in either
12 or 24 hour formats.

Switch the system into standby.

Press SYSTEM SETUP (SHIFT + HOME
MENU).

Use the
(cursor left/right)
buttons to select '12/24 Hour?', then press
ENTER.

Use the
(cursor up/down)
buttons to select either '12-Hour?' or '24-
Hour?'.

Press ENTER to confirm.

Changing the frequency step

(Except for
Saudi Arabia model
• Default setting: FM50 AM 9
If you find that you can't tune into stations
successfully, the frequency step may not be
suitable for your country/region.

Switch the system into standby.

Press SYSTEM SETUP (SHIFT + HOME
MENU).

Use the
(cursor left/right)
buttons to select 'FM AM STEP?', then
press ENTER.

Use the
(cursor up/down)
buttons to select 'FM 50 AM 9?' or 'FM100
AM10?' then press ENTER to confirm.

Resetting the system

Use this procedure to reset all system
settings to the factory default.

Switch the system into standby.

Press and hold the front panel
button for about 8 seconds until the
display shows 'Mem.Clr.?'.

Press the from panel
All the system's settings are now reset, and
you should see the welcome screen.
