Using the unit with a computer
First time connection – Install the driver
software
You must install the USB driver when you connect this unit to your
computer the first time. This only has to be done the first time. Driver
software is included with the computer's operating system software.
You may need a CD-ROM to install the software so have it on hand.
Read the computer's operating instructions before installation.

Driver installation
q q Turn on your computer and start up the operating
system.
w w Turn on this unit.
e e Connect this unit to the computer with the USB cable

The computer detects this unit and installs the appropriate device
driver. Follow the instructions displayed on the computer.
Do not disconnect the USB cable while the computer is detecting this
unit.

Confirming driver installation
Confirm that the driver has been correctly installed.
q q From the "Start" menu, select "Settings" and click on
"Control Panel".
w w In the control panel window, double-click on the
"System" icon.

In Windows 98 Second Edition or Windows Millennium Edition
Click on the "Device Manager" tab.
Make sure "View devices by type" is checked.
In Windows 2000 Professional
Click on the "Hardware" tab and then click on "Device
Manager".
r r Check that the device has been recognized.
Confirm that "USB Audio Device" appears under "Sound, video and
game controllers" and that "USB Composite Device" appears under
"Universal Serial Bus controllers".
If the devices have not been recognized
Disconnect the USB cable, then reconnect it. If the devices are still not
recognized, try restarting your computer.
Note
What is actually displayed in the device manager list and other computer
windows depends on your computer environment.
