waste heat from a neighboring oil
refinery to encouraging driving
styles that conserve fuel and reduce
emissions. Here are just a few of

1972
Volvo becomes first automaker
to declare environmental
commitment at United Nations
Conference on the Environment.
I ntroduction of Lambda Sond

and the 3-way catalytic converter,
a unique sensor that eliminates
approximately 95x/0 of regulated
emissions (hydrocarbons, oxides

radiator is introduced

on certain models.

As part of our global environmental commitment, the new Volvo
Cross Country features the Volvo PremAir* radiator system. It
helps reduce ground level ozone as you drive. PremAir can best be
described as coating on the radiator that actually turns ground level
ozone into oxygen as air flows through it. At high temperatures,
almost 75% of this ozone is converted into oxygen.
