Throttle lever in wrong position
(unless engine is warm).
Out of fuel.
Fuel valve off.
Bad fuel; engine stored without
draining, or refuelled with bad
petrol.
Spark plug fouled or improperly
gapped.
Spark plug wet (flooded engine).
Fuel filter clogged, carburettor
malfunction; ignition
malfunction; compression problem.

Troubleshooting
Correction
Move throttle lever to the
choke position.
Refuel.
Turn fuel valve on.
Drain fuel tank and carburettor.
Refuel with fresh petrol.
Clean, gap or replace spark plug.
Dry and reinstall spark plug. Start
engine with throttle lever in fast
position.
Replace or repair faulty
components as necessary.
Correction
Clean or replace air filter(s).
Drain fuel tank and carburettor.
Refuel with fresh petrol.
Position the throttle lever in fast.
