Description
HP StorageWorks B-series Data Center Fabric Manager (DCFM) is HP's next-generation fabric
management application and the successor to its legacy fabric management application, HP
StorageWorks Fabric Manager (FM).
New hardware platforms
DCFM 10.3.0 introduced support for the following new hardware platforms:
HP StorageWorks 2408 FCoE Converged Network Switch (earlier versions only supported Discovery
for this switch)
HP StorageWorks 1606 Extension SAN Switch
HP StorageWorks DC SAN Director Multiprotocol Extension Blade
HP StorageWorks DC SAN Director Switch 10/24 FCoE Blade
New software features
DCFM 10.3.0 introduced support for the following new software features:
DCFM Professional Plus—A new product in the DCFM product line designed for medium-sized
businesses or departmental storage networks
Uses the same binary as DCFM Enterprise, but with limited features and scalability
Supports up to 4 fabrics and 2,560 switch ports
Supports the same hardware platforms as DCFM Enterprise, with the exception of the HP
StorageWorks DC SAN Backbone Director
Supports fabrics that contain only M-EOS switches
Does not support FICON
Can be upgraded to DCFM Enterprise with a license-key update
Support for fabrics with only M-EOS switches by adding discovery functionality to M-EOS switches
M-EOS V9.6.x or later is required for seed switch compatibility.
An M-EOS seed switch with firmware earlier than V9.9.2 supports the following fabric member
information:
Domain ID
Switch WWN
Topology
An M-EOS seed switch with firmware V9.9.2 or later supports the following fabric member
information, in addition to the information supported by earlier versions:
B-series Data Center Fabric Manager Enterprise, Professional Plus, and Professional
