Turning the DVD player on and off To turn the DVD player on: Press the power button on the DVD player. The DVD player enters Standby mode. Each subsequent press of the power button on the DVD player switches the DVD player between Standby mode and off.

Important Using search mode You can specify the section you want the DVD player to start playing from. You can start playback at a particular title, chapter number, or specific elapsed time from the beginning of the current DVD title or the current CD track.

Changing the video signal format Depending on the country you use this DVD player in, you may need to change the video signal format to match the television and DVD being played. In the United States and Canada, NTSC is the video signal format used. In Europe, Australia, and Asia, PAL is the video signal format used.
You can use either conventional interlaced video or progressive scan video when your DVD player is connected using component video out. Progressive scanned video reproduces high-density pictures with less flicker. Some televisions or projectors can handle only interlaced or progressive scanned video signals.
