8.6.2 Cleaning the Printer (Function #12)
You must perform the Printer Cleaning procedure each time a new Imaging
Cartridge is installed, or if your Model 9930 is experiencing frequent jams. Failure
to do so can cause damage to the unit.
The Printer Cleaning Procedure generates 3 sheets of Cleaning Paper which is
then used to clean the fuser rollers in the Model 9930 paper path.
Do This
1. Press FUNCTION.
2. Press 12 and then YES.
3. Press YES.
4. When the test charts have been printed, remove them
from the Paper Exit Tray and place them, face up,
in the Upper Cassette. Close the Cassette.
This Happens
FUNCTION SELECT?
ENTER FUNCTION # ___
CLEAN PRINTER?
ENTER YES OR NO
The following message will
appear in the display:
PLEASE WAIT FOR
CLEANING CHARTS
After a few moments, the
Model 9930 will automatically
print 3 test charts with a
diagonal black pattern which
will be delivered, face up,
into the Paper Exit Tray.
Then the display will read:
LOAD CHARTS IN UPPER
CASSETTE, FACE UP
The display will immediately
read:
CLEANING PRINTER
The test charts will automa-
tically feed into the Model
9930.
The fuser rollers in the 9930
should now be clean.
The display will return to the
System Ready Mode.
