r_ INSTALLTHE AIR CONDITIONERIN THE
WINDOW
• Carefully liftthe air conditioner and slide it intothe open
window. Makesurethe bot_m guideof the air condifJoner
drops into the notches createdby the L brackets.
• When the air conditioner drops into the L brackets,the
air conditionerwill be cantered in window openingas
shown in FIG. 7.
•Wnile steadying the air conditioner,carefully bring the
window sash down behind the upperguide of the air
conditioner,as shown in FIG. 8.

f_ SECURETHE GUIDEPANELS
Extend the guide panels (ITEM F) tofill the window
opening using 4 screws (ITEM B) to secure them, as
shown in FIG. 9.
IL_ INSTALLTHE FOAMSEAL AND SASH LOCK
• Cut the foam seal (ITEM E) tothe windowwidth.
Stuff the foamseal betweenthe lower and upper
windowsashto prevent a ir andinsectsfrom getting
intothe room,as shownin FIG. 9.
• Fastenthe remaining L bracketon eithersideofthe
windowusingscrew(ITEM A). See FIG. 9 inset.
Installing thisbracketprevents unitfalling from window
beingraised

• Remove the screw on lower fight side of cabinet.
• Use this screw to attach the support bracket(ITEM H)
to the innerwindow sill as shown Fig. 10.

WINDOW FRAME
• If storm windowpresents interference, f asten a 2"wide
woodstriptothe innerwindowsill across the fullwidth of
the sill.Thewoodstripshouldbe thickenoughtoraise
the heightofthe windowsillsothatthe unitcanbe
installed withoutinterference f rom the the stormwindow
frame. See FIG. 11.
Topofwoodstripshouldbeapproximately 3/4"higher
thanthe stormwindowframeto helpcondensation to
drain properly tothe outside.
• Installa secondwoodstrip(approximately 6 "longby
1_/2" wideandsamethickness as first strip) in the center
ofthe outersinflush against t he backofthe innersill.
Screwthe L bracketsintothisstdp.
Thiswill raisethe L bracketas shownin FIG. 11.

Turnthe air conditioner off,anddisconnect t he power
cord. Removethe L bracketandthe screwsinstalled
through the topandbottomofthe sidepanels,andsave
forreinstallation later.Closethe side panels.Keepinga
firm gripon the airconditioner,raise the sash,and
carefully tiltthe airconditioner a wayfrom you,to drainany
condensatewater.Liftthe air conditioner from the window
andremovethe foam sealfrom betweenthe windows.
• Airconditioners c overed in this manual posean
excessive weighthazard. T woor morepeopleare
needed to moveandinstalltheunit.
Topreventinjuryor strain,useproper liftingand
carrying t echniques w henmoving unit.
• Whenhandling theair conditioner, becarefultoavoid
cutsfromsharpmetalfinson frontandrearcoils.
• Makesureairconditioner d oesnotfallduringremoval.
