Problem
Your LIFEBOOK Ultrabook turns off
all by itself.
Your LIFEBOOK Ultrabook will not
work on battery alone.
The battery seems to discharge
too quickly.
Possible Cause
The power management
parameters are set for auto
timeouts which are too short
for your operating needs.
You have a battery failure.
You are operating on battery
power and ignored a low bat-
tery alarm until the battery is
dead and system has entered
Dead Battery Suspend mode.
Your power adapter has failed
or lost power.
The battery is dead.
The battery is faulty.
You are running an applica-
tion that uses a lot of power
due to frequent hard drive or
optical drive access, or use of
a WLAN or Bluetooth device.
The power savings features
may be disabled.
The battery is very old.
The brightness is turned all
the way up.
Possible Solutions
Press any button on the keyboard, or move the mouse to restore operation. If that
fails, push the Power/Suspend/Resume button. Check your power management
settings, or close your applications and go to Power Options Properties located in
the Control Panel to adjust the timeout values to better suit your needs.
Verify the battery condition using the Status Indicator panel (see page 17), and if
the battery is shorted, contact Fujitsu Support at:
(http://www.computers.us.fujitsu.com/support) to find out how to get a replace-
ment battery installed.
Install a power adapter and then push the Power/Suspend/Resume button.

Make sure the adapter is plugged in and the outlet has power.
Install a power adapter to recharge the battery.
