Insert the stem of the quilting guide into the

hole at the rear of the walking foot or presser
foot holder.

Adjust the stem of the quilting guide so that
the guide aligns with the seam that has
already been sewn.
Note
● The optional quilting guide is available
through your retailer.
Free-motion quilting
With free-motion quilting, lower the feed dogs (using
the feed dog position switch) so that the fabric is not
fed.
The optional quilting foot is needed for free-motion
quilting.
Note
● Thread the needle manually when using the
quilting foot, or thread the needle with the
needle threader before attaching the free-
motion quilting foot.

Turn off the sewing machine.

Remove the presser foot and the presser foot
holder.
• For details, refer to "Removing the presser
foot holder" (page 32).

Attach the quilting foot to the presser foot
holder screw.
The pin on the quilting foot should be
positioned over the needle clamp screw.
