the Battery and a Memory Card
Insert the battery and memory card as described below.
(l> Before proceeding, confirm that tile water-resistant seal is free of foreign matter as
described on page xi.
1 Open the battery-chamber
cover.
Keeping the safety lock pressed ((]])), rotate
the latch ((_) and open the battery-cham-
ber cover ((]_)).
Be sure the camera is off before opening the
battery-chamber cover.
(l) Do not open tile battery-chamber cover when
tile camera is on. Failureto observe this precaution could result in damage to
image files or memory cards.
(l;>Do not use excessiveforce when handling the battery-chamber cover.
(l;>Remove water droplets and other foreign matter with a dry cloth before open-
ing the battery-chamber cover.
