USING THE TIME SHIFT FUNCTION
You can use the Time Shift function to pause
currently broadcasted digital TV programs using a
USB storage device, and resume to the point
where it was paused. So you can get up for a drink
and return to the TV without missing the program
during your absence.
Note:
• The USB storage device for the Time Shift
function must have free space of at least 1GB,
and reading/writing speed at least 5MB/sec.
The table below is a list of USB storage
devices that are recommended to be used
with the Time Shift function of the TV.
Models that are not listed may be
compatible, but it is not guaranteed to work.

• This feature is not available for all digital TV
programs, such as scrambled or audio only
channels.
Preparation
Before using the Time Shift function, you must
prepare the USB storage device for use with the
TV.
1. Press the INPUT button on the remote control
and select TV to switch the input source to
digital TV.
2. Press the PLAY/PAUSE button on the remote
control, and follow the on-screen instructions.
Note:
• Formatting of the USB storage device is
needed. Save your original data before
formatting. All the data stored on the USB
storage device will be erased after
formatting.
• The format process will take at least 2
minutes. Please do not turn off the power or

remove the USB storage device during
formatting.
• During formatting, a speed test will be done
on the USB storage device. If it fails, it means
that the USB storage device is not suitable for
the Time Shift function.
Using the Time Shift Function
While watching digital TV programs, press the
PLAY/PAUSE button on the remote control. The
TV program will be paused, and the Time Shift
function will start recording the TV program signal
from the time when the button is pressed and
onward.
To stop the time shift function and resume normal
viewing, press the PLAY/PAUSE button on the
remote control again. You can press the FWD
button on the remote control to fast-forward the
program (until the real-time broadcast), or press
the REV button on the remote control to fast
reverse the program (until the time when the
PLAY/PAUSE button was pressed).
Note:
• Video playback may not be smooth and skip if
the USB recording speed does not meet the
minimum requirement (for certain 1080i/p
signals).
• DO NOT remove the USB storage device or
switch off the TV during Time Shift
operations. It will abort once the signal is lost.
• DO NOT disconnect the digital TV signal
during Time Shift operations.
• Approximately 4GB of memory buffer will
contain 180 minutes for 480i content or 30
minutes for 1080i content.
• Once 4GB of data gets stored, the Time Shift
function will delete the stored data and
restart the buffering of content. This occurs
even for USB storage devices larger than
4GB.
USING THE MEDIA PLAYER
With the TV's USB media player function, you can
view photos and play music files stored on a USB
storage device (like a USB flash drive).
Note: Do not use a USB hub. Connect the USB
storage device directly to the USB port of the TV.
This TV is not guaranteed to support all USB
storage devices on the market.
