Turning On and Off

Turning the camera on in
Shooting mode
Open the lens cover completely to turn the camera on.
Close the lens cover to turn the camera off.
• Power-ON
MEMO
Changes between Shooting mode and Playback
mode
Press w during shooting to change to Playback mode.
Press the shutter button down halfway to return to
Shooting mode.
CAUTION
• Take care not to get fingerprints on the camera lens as
this will result in impaired image quality in your shots.
• Press w to activate Playback mode when the lens
cover is open. Press and hold w to turn the camera off.
• Avoid pressing the lens cover to prevent damaging the
surface of the camera.
• The ON/OFF switch does not completely disconnect the
camera from its power supply.
• Power-OFF
Turning the camera on in
Playback mode
A Leave the lens cover closed.
• Close the lens cover
B Press w for about 1 second to turn the camera on in
Playback mode.
Press w during playback to turn the camera off.
CAUTION
When the lens cover is open, even if you press w, the
power cannot be turned off. Follow the instructions on the
LCD monitor.
MEMO
To change to Shooting mode, open the lens cover
completely so that it will not move further.
