Labels

The labels affixed to the computer provide information you may need when you troubleshoot system
problems or travel internationally with the computer. The labels are in easily accessible locations.

Serial number label—Provides important information, including the following:

Have this information available when you contact technical support. The serial number label is
affixed to the bottom of the computer.

Microsoft® Certificate of Authenticity—Contains the Windows Product Key. You may need the
Product Key to update or troubleshoot the operating system. The Microsoft Certificate of
Authenticity is located on the bottom of the computer.

Hard drive bay
Description
The service door provides access to the
wireless compartment, memory module
compartment, keyboard access screw, and
optical drive bay,
CAUTION: To prevent an unresponsive
system, replace the wireless module only
with a wireless module authorized for use
in the computer by the governmental
agency that regulates wireless devices in
your country or region. If you replace the
module and then receive a warning
message, remove the module to restore
computer functionality, and then contact
customer support through Help and
Support.
The hard drive cover provides access to
the hard drive bay.
