This section introduces a range of functions that
you can access when the Mode dial is set to

DC IN 5V socket
If there is a power socket handy, use the special AC
Power Adapter AC-5VH/AC-5V (sold separately)
so there is no need to worry about the batteries
running out during playback (➡P.13, 62).
ERASING SINGLE
PLAYBACK MENU
FRAME ( Erasing single frame )
Erases only the selected image.

You cannot use this function to erase protected images
(➡P.45, 47) or images with DPOF settings (➡ P.51, 53).
ALL FRAMES ( Erasing all frames )
Erases all of the images.

You cannot use this function to erase protected
images or images with DPOF settings.
FORMAT
Erases all of the data and reformats (initializes)
the SmartMedia for use with this camera.

Formatting also erases protected images and
images with DPOF settings.

If the "

" message appears, wipe the
contact surfaces on the SmartMedia (the gold-
colored area) with a soft, dry cloth and then re-insert
it into the camera.
If this does not resolve the problem, format the card.
