Installing the Switch
Connecting to a Fiber Optic Port
If you connect fiber cable to a 100Mbps module on the switch, be sure you use an
SC-type or ST or MTRJ connector. When inserting the cable, be sure the tab on the
plug clicks into position to ensure that it is properly seated. If you use an SC-to-ST
converter (for 62.5/125 micron cable only), run cable from the Rx (Tx) port on the
module to the Tx (Rx) port on the target device. The fiber module operates at
100Mbps, Full duplex, and supports flow control. The maximum cable length for
100BASE-FX fiber is as shown in the following table.
