Power Management
Power management saves electricity and extends battery life by controlling power
supply to built-in devices. You can set the power management properties in the
Setup Utility or in Windows 98. Your computer is controlled by the power
management settings in which the time set is shorter.
Note that the power management may not seem to function in the following
conditions:

When you are using an application program that accesses the hard disk
periodically
When the IR monitor is available (refer to Chapter 5)
When Windows CD Auto Play is functioning
Stopping Power Supply to the Hard Disk
Setting in Windows 98
1.
In the Power Management Properties dialog box, select Power Schemes tab.

Set Turn off hard disks to an appropriate value, and click OK.
Setting in the Setup Utility
In the Power menu, set Power Management Function to Enabled and set Hard Disk
Power Down after to an appropriate value.
Stopping Power Supply to the Display
This procedure is also effective for an attached external monitor complying
with power management.
Setting in Windows 98
1.
In the Power Management Properties dialog box, select Power Schemes tab.
2.
Set Turn off monitor to an appropriate value, and click OK.
