DDL Compiler Commands

HELP Command

The HELP command lists a brief description of any specified command or of all
commands.
HELP [ command ]
command
is the name or partial name of a DDL compiler command. If command is omitted,
DDL lists a brief description of all the DDL compiler commands. If you specify the
first one or more characters of a command, DDL returns information about the first
command (in alphabetic order) that matches the string of characters.
HELP Command Examples
The following example shows how the HELP command lists a command description in
an interactive session:
36> DDL
!?HELP SAVE
SAVE - Don't purge dictionary when it is closed
!
The following example shows how the HELP command matches a partial command
name to a command and displays information:
37> DDL
!?HELP C
COBOL - Open COBOL source output on specified file

LINECOUNT Command

The LINECOUNT command specifies the number of lines printed on both a report
page (generated by the REPORT command) and a listing page (generated by the LIST
command).
LINECOUNT number
number
is the number of lines per page on a report or listing. If LINECOUNT is omitted, the
number of lines on each page is 56.
LINECOUNT Command Guideline
The LINECOUNT command is meaningful only when the listing or report destination is
a line printer.
