PREPARATION
HOWTO DISCHARGE OUT THE SIDE
1. Stop the engine.
2. Loosenthe wfngnut (Rgure 14).
3. Move the chute deflector to the open
SIDE DISCHARGE position.
4. Tightenthe wlngnut.
5. If equipped,removethe grass bag. Make
su¢ethe rear door is completelyclosed.
HOW TO MULCH
1. Stop the engJne.

3. Move the chute deflector to the closed
MULCH poeition.
4. Tighten the wingnut.
5. if equipped, removethe grass beg. Make
sure the rear door Is completelyclosed.

MULCHING TIPS
Mulching fineiycutsthe gresssothst the gress

fertilizer.To correctlymulchthe lawn, follow
the tipsbelow.
The grassmust be dly. Ifthe grsss is
wet, it will be diffloult t o cut andcause
heavy clumps of grass.
• The grassmust notbe tootoll The
maximumheightto effectivelycut is 4 1/2
inches.Set the heightadjusters sothat
onlythe top thirdof the grass is cut.
If the gressis more then 4 1/2 inches
high,two mowings will be necessary.Fo(
the first mowing,sot the heightadjusters

heightadjustersforthe second mowing.

following:
