Data connection

When you turn on your phone for the first time, it will be automatically set up to use
your mobile operator's data connection (if the SIM card is inserted).
Turning the data connection on or off
Turning your data connection off can help save battery life and save money on data
charges. However, if you don't have data connection turned on and you're also not
connected to a Wi-Fi network, you won't receive automatic updates to your email,
social network accounts, and other synchronized information.
1. On the Start screen, tap
2. Tap Settings > mobile network.
3. Tap the Data connection On/Off switch.
Adding a new access point
An access point name (APN) is the address your phone uses to connect to the data
network. By default, APNs are set automatically when your phone is first set up. If
your cellular data connection isn't working, try entering a new APN based on your
location and mobile operator.
Before adding, have the access point name and settings (including username and
password if required) from your mobile operator ready.
1. On the Start screen, tap
2. Tap Settings > mobile network.
3. Tap add apn.
4. Enter the APN and other required settings.
5. Tap
to save.
