PUMP REPLACEMENT PROCEDURE
First isolate the pump from loop as in Figure 9. Always
disable power to the pumps and remove pump power
wiring if needed. Close valves as in Step 1 of Figure 9.

Start-Up of Flow Controller
1) Check to make sure that the loop and unit isolation
valves are completely open and the flush ports are
closed and sealed.
2) Check and record the earth loop pressure via the P/T
ports. Loop Pressure = In
3) Check and record the flow rate.

4) Check performance of unit. Refer to unit installation
manual. Replace all caps to prevent pressure loss.

Place rag under pump to collect loop fluid.
•
Remove 4 allen head mounting bolts and lift off
pump stator housing.
•
Replace with new pump insuring no foreign material
has entered in joint and evenly install the four allen
head mounting bolts.
•
Place garden hose supply and return on flush ports as
shown in Figure 9 and open valves to flush through
the unit portion of loop. When water flows clear,
close return side to pressurize and finally close the
supply side valve. Lastly close 3-way valves to
operation position Figure 8E. In situations where this
procedure may not be feasible the loop can also be
reflushed using the complete flushing procedure
outlined for installation.
Remember this procedure will dilute the antifreeze
mixture by a couple gallons. If performed more than
twice on any earth loop the antifreeze concentration
should be checked with a hydrometer and antifreeze
added as needed.
