Adjusting Knives

Note: The knives have two cutting edges and can
be reversed to double their usage.
The knives of this planer are extremely
sharp and can quickly cause a serious injury
to your hands or fingers. Always wear heavy
leather gloves when handling these knives
to reduce the risk of cutting injuries.

Note: To loosen the gib bolts, turn them
clockwise—the opposite of the normal direc-
tion (see Figure 28).

Note: Make sure the gibs and springs do not
fall out of the cutterhead by re-tightening the
gib bolts.
