1. Loosenroundhandleknobssecuringupperand
lowerhandlesand carefullyfoldthe upperhandle
downtowardthe lowerhandleas shownin Figure8.
2. Removethetwo screwssecuringbatterycoverto
batteryhousingand placethem to the side, Figure8.
3. Open batterycover,removepositiveand negative
leadsfrom battery,removeand replacewith new
battery,Figure9. Connectthe positiveleadto the
positiveside of the batterypack,then connectthe
negativeside.
NOTE:Thebatteryyou havemay differ slightlyfrom the
one shownin Figure9. Referto the Parts List.
IMPORTANT:Whenreplacingbatterypack in handle
panel,batterypack must be positionedwith the positive
terminalto the left sideand the negativeterminalto the
rightside of panel (Positiveterminalis closestto the key
switch),Figure9. Replacingbatterypack incorrectlywill
causeseriousdamage.
4. Reattachbatterycoverto batteryhousingby secur-
ing with the two screwsremovedearlier,makingsure
to snapthe wireconduiton the left into placeon the
housing.
5. Foldhandlesbackup and tightenhandleknobs.

NOTE:Thespecialdesignedplugon the chargerwill
onlyfit intothe plugon the batterybox.
1. Plugthe batterychargerintothe porton the
undersideof the batteryhousing,Figure10.
2. Insertthe batterychargerplug intoa standard120
volt householdoutlet, Figure10.Chargebattery
for 8 to 10 hoursbeforeinitial use. Do not charge
longer than 12 hours. The batteryshouldonly need
to be chargedupon initialsetupand after anyother
extendedperiodsof non-use.
3. After charging,disconnectchargerplugfrom outlet
first, thendisconnectchargerleadfrom battery.
IMPORTANT:Do not removethe batterypackfrom
the electricstarterhousingfor any reasonotherthan
replacement.
