To play a compact disc
I
UTurn on the power of the player.
[]Insert discs into the Rack, and close the rack
and the front panel.
• Insert discs to be played into the Racks beforehand. (Refer
to "BEFORE OPERATING THE PLAYER" on page 9.)
[] Press I_ to start playback.
• The I_ indicator in the display window lights.
• Playback starts with the mode indicated in the display window
unless the playing mode (page 11) is not specified.
• While the front panel and the Rack are opened, the Rack's
number which cannot be opened appears on the display.
(" JgR L r /'__ " means Rack 2 cannot be opened.)

NOTES:
• When "ALL-no'appears on the display, it means no discs are in
the player.
• The Rack which contains the disc being played cannot be
opened, and discs cannot be changed in that rack.
• While the front panel or one of the Racks is opened, the player
will not enter the playback mode even ff I_ or RANDOM is
pressed. Be sure to close the Rack and the front panel before
pressing It, or RANDOM.
• While the front panel and the Rack are opened, the search
operation for other discs cannot be carried out.
Last disc memory
When • is pressed, or the power is turned off, the player memorizes
the disc on which playback was stopped. Therefore, playback can be
resumed from the last played disc.
In the program playback mode, playback resumes from the first
programmed disc.
Last disc memory function can be carried out in ALL, SINGLE, or
CUSTOM playback mode.
Last disc memory does not function after random playback.
Operations indicated by the [ IDle ] mark are performed with the
remote control unit.
