Controlled Cameras
In extremely rare instances, unusual characters may appear in the monitor and the
camera may stop functioning. In most cases, this phenomenon
is caused by a
strong external static: charge. Turn the camera off, remove and replace the batte%
then turn the camera on again. In the event of continued malfunction, contact
your retailer or Nikomauthorized
service representative. Note that disconnecting
the power source as described above may result in the loss of any data not saved
to internal memory or the memory card at the time the problem occurred. Data
already saved will not be affected.
Shooting

Problem
No picture taken when shutter-
reEease button is pressed.
Cannot use shooting mode.
Camera cannot focus.
Images are blurred.
Cometdike streaks that whiten
toward either end appear in the
monitor.
Cause/Solution
When camera is in playback mode, press I_1.
When menus are displayed, press MENU.
Battery exhausted.
When flash lamp blinks, flash is charging.
Disconnect
the HDMI cable or USB cable.
The intended subject is one with which
autofocus does not perform well.
Set AF assist in the setup menu to Auto.
Focus error.Turn camera offand then on
again.
Use flash.
Raise the ISO sensitivity.
Use vibration reduction
and motion detection.
Use BSS(Best Shot Selector).
Use tripod and se]f4imer.
Smear may occur when the camera is aimed at a
bright subject. When using multi-16, sport
continuous,
or when recording movies, avoid
bright objects such as the sun, reflections of the
sun, and electric lights.
