Blade Control
Theblade controlis attachedto the upperhandleof
the mower.Depressand squeezeit againstthe upper
handleto operatethe unit. Releaseit to stop engineand
blade.See Figure4-1.

Drive Control
Thedrivecontrol is locatedon the undersideof the
upperhandleand is usedto engagethe drive.Squeeze
it againstthe upper handleto engagethedrive; release
it to slow downor stop mowerfrom propelling.
Mulching
Plug
Themulchingplug is usedonly for mulchingpurposes.
Insteadof collectingthe grassclippings in the grass
catcher,yourmowerhas theoptionof recirculating
the clippingsbackto the lawn. Makesurethat the
rear dischargedoor isclosedand the grass catcheris
removedfrom unitwhile mulching.

Levers
One adjustmentleveris locatedon eachwheeland is
usedto adjustthe cuttingheight.All fourlevershaveto
be at the same relativepositionto ensurea uniformcut.
Recoil Starter
The recoil starter is attached to the right upper
handle. Stand behind the unit and pull the recoil
starter rope to start the unit.
Gas and Oil Fill-Up
1. Checkoil leveland add oil if necessary.Followengine
manualfor this.
2. Servicethe enginewith gasolineas instructedin the
enginemanual.See Enginemanualfor locationof oil
and gas fill.
