Using
the remote
control
to operate
VCRs,
cable
boxes
and
other
components
(cont.)

your remote
control
to operate
your cable
box or
satellite
box
After you have set up your remote
control
for your particular
brand
of cable or satellite
box, you can use the remote to operate
it.
O
Use the select switch on the remote
control to choose the layer
that you set up to operate
your cable o:: satellite
box: AUDIO
or DVD.
O
Point the remote
control[ at the cable o:_satellite
box and press
the desired
buttons.
You can use the POWER,
CHANNEL,
nambers
(0-9), and :ENTER
buttons
to operate
your cable box. If you are using an RCA DSS or
PRIMESTAR
® receiver,
you. may be able to use additional
buttons.

for these device,s.

or AN receiver

Set the select switch
on the top of the remote
to choose the
layer you want to set up.
For a laserdisc
player,
choose DVD or
AUDIO.
For an A/V receiver,
choose AUDIO or TV.
While holding

Be sure to enter both digits of the code number.
Start

first code listed.

Release
the POWER
button.

Press the POWER
button
again.
Your disc player
or audio
component
should turn on. If it doe,;, your remote c,ontrol is
now set up to operate
your audio component.
If it does not turn
on, repeat
the instructions
above, trying
the next code number
listed for your component.
