AUDIO OUT lacks: jacks locatedon the back of the DVD Playerwhich are used
to send audio to another system ('1"_, decoder,or amplifier).
CD: Compact Disc (audio)
Coaxial !ack: Used to send digital audio to a decoder or amplifier, a llowingyou to
adjustthe volumeat the decoder or amplifier.Thisconnectionprovidesthe 5.1
channelsurround sound as heard in movie theaters.
COMPONENTVIDEO OUT Jacks: jacks located on the back of the DVD
Player which are used to send high-quality video to a'iV with Component Video In
jacks.
Dolby Digital: A surround sound system that provides 5.1 channel sound as used
in movie theaters.
DTS:_bDigital T heater Systems.This is a surround sound system, but it is different
from Dolby Digital.The formats were developed by different companies.
DVD: Digital Video Disc.
OPTICAL Jack: Converts electrical signals into optical signalsbefore sending the
audio to the amplifier. O ptical audio is not prone to external electrical influences
and has less noise, which reduces adverse effects on external equipment. Be sure to
keep the protective cap on the jack when the jack is not being used.This keeps dust
