4. If you want the phone to add area codes to phone numbers when you travel, tap
. The area codes are taken from your Address Book, if available. Otherwise,

when you are in Roaming mode, the phone inserts your home service area code.
Never The phone never inserts area codes.
Roaming The phone inserts the area code for any number you dial while in Roaming
mode. It does not insert area codes when you are in your Home area.
Always The phone inserts the area code for any number you dial whether you are in
your Home area or roaming.
5. Enter the numbers to be dialed for outgoing long distance calls on the Intl. Access line and
lines. The International Access code and Country Code are the codes that will

be automatically dialed in place of a "+" for long distance numbers saved in your address
book. These codes must be appropriate for dialing out of the country you are currently in.
6. If you want to add prefixes or suffixes to all your long distance calls (such as calling
card numbers), do the following:
a. Enter the numbers to dial before the phone number on the Dial before number line.
b. Enter the numbers to dial after the phone number on the Dial after number line.
7. Enter the length of local phone numbers in your area (excluding the area code) in the
Local Number Length
Because the length of phone numbers varies around the world, this information is used to
format your numbers correctly.
8. When you are finished, tap

The banner is the text that appears on the screen when the phone is idle. Display preferences
include choosing unique text to use as the banner for your phone, and specifying whether or not
you wish phone numbers to be automatically hyphenated when you type them in.
To set the banner text
1. Tap to view the Applications screen.
