Normal operatingsounds.
These sounds are normal and
are due mostly to highly efficient
operation.

Icemaker(on somemodels). Occasion_dly you will hear ice cubes dropping
into the ice bin. If this is your first icemakei; you'll hear occasional sounds
that may be unfamiliar. They are nomlal icemaking sounds and are not

The icemaket water x_flvewill buzz when the icemaket fills with wamt. ff file
power switch is in the I (on) position it will buzz even if it has not yet been
hooked tap m wamt. Keeping the pox, v et switch in the I (on) position before it is
hooked up m wamt can damage the icemaket. To wevent this, set the power
switch to the 0 (Off)position. This will stop the buzzing.
Evaporator F an.* You may heat air being forced through the cabinet by the fan.
The fan operates at diffbtent speeds depending
on cooling needs. If either door
remains open for moxe than 3 minums, the fan will come on.
Evaporator.
T he flow of refiigerant
through
the evaporator
may create a slight
bubbling
of gmgling
sound.
Defrost Heater. During
deflost
cycles, water dripping
onto the heater
may cause
a hissing of sizzling sound. Aider deflosting,
a popping
sound
may occm and the
evaporator
may create a slight bubbling
or gurgling
sound.
PlasticLiner.Cracking or popping sounds due to expansion
of the plastic liner.
This occurs mainly when cooling down fiom room temperature.
O Water Valve(onmodelsequippedwith an automatic icemaker)._qlen the icemaker
fills with water, a buzzing sound and running water will be heard. If you have low
water pressure, you may hear the icemaker cycle sevetvd times when making one
batch of ice.

Water Pan. X_ratermay be heatd running into the maintenance-free
(h_dn pan
during the deflost cycle.
Compressor.* Modern, high efficiency comptessot_ opetate much faster than
older models. The compressor may have a high pitched hum or pulsating sound.
Condenser F an.* You may hear air being forced over the condenser
by the fan.
Whenthecontrolsettings arechanged, t hecompressor and fansmaynot reactimmediately.
