Removing and replacing a FRU

1180 CPU

For access, remove these FRUs in order:
v "1010 Battery pack" on page 58
v "1060 Palm rest or palm rest with fingerprint reader" on page 65
v "1080 Keyboard" on page 70
v "1160 Keyboard bezel assembly with speaker" on page 81
v "1170 Fan assembly" on page 83
Attention: CPU is extremely sensitive. When you service the CPU, avoid any
kind of rough handling.
Rotate the head of the screw in the direction shown by arrow 1 to release the
lock; then remove the CPU 2 .
When installing: Place the CPU on the CPU socket a , and then rotate the head

MT 0660, 0672, 0673, 0674, 0675, 9450, 9451, 9452, and 9453

of the screw in the direction shown by arrow b to secure the
CPU.
