INTRODUCTION
The frame weights are an easily installed
and recommended attachment. By
placing extra weight on the frame above
each wheel, your tiller will have better
traction.
Please follow these instructions to install
the frame weights.
If you have questions or problems
installing or using this kit, contact your
local authorized dealer or the Factory
Technical Service Department.
WARNING
Before installing this kit, stop the
engine, allow the engine to cool,
disconnect the spark plug wire and move
it away from the spark plug.
Failure to do so could result in personal
injury or property damage.
IMPORTANT: Left and right sides of the
unit are determined by standing behind
the unit, in the operator's position, and
facing in the direction of forward travel.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Place a block beneath the
transmission so that the left wheel is
suspended off the ground.
2. Remove the hairpin cotter and clevis
pin that secure the wheel to the axle.
Remove the wheel.
3. Remove the screw that attaches the
forward end of the transmission pan to
the frame rail (Figure 1). Keep this screw
in case you remove the frame weights at a
later time.

4. Place a frame weight on the frame rail
as shown in Figure 2. Align the holes in
the frame weight with the front holes in
the transmission pan and the frame rail.
Also align with the rear hole in the frame
rail.

NOTE: There is no right or left frame
weight— they are interchangeable.
5. Put a 1/4" flat washer onto one of the
1/4-20 x 1-1/2" screws and install the
screw through the front hole in the frame
weight and the transmission pan (A,
Figure 3). Then thread the screw into the
threaded hole in the frame rail. Do not
fully tighten this screw yet.

6. Put a 5/16" flat washer onto one of the
5/16-18 x 1-1/2" screws and install the
screw into the rear hole of the frame
weight (B, Figure 3).
7. Put a 5/16" lock washer and a 5/16"
nut onto the rear frame weight screw.
8. Securely tighten the front and rear
screws.
9. Install a 1/4" nut onto the forward
frame weight screw and tighten securely
(Figure 4).

10. Reinstall the wheel and remove the
block from beneath the transmission.
11. Install the remaining frame weight by
repeating Steps 1 through 10.
