• For b est results during vacuum u se,
operate your unit a thigh s peed.
• Move s lowly back a nd forth over the
material asyou vacuum. Avoid f orc-
ing the unit i nto a pile ofdebris as
this can clog theunit.
• Keep the vacuum t ube about aninch
above the ground for b est results.
PLAN AHEAD
• Always wear eye protection when o p-
erating, servicing, orperforming main-
tenance onunit. Wearing eye protec-
tion will h elp t oprevent rocks ordebris
from being b lown orricocheting into
eyes a nd face which can result in
blindness and/or serious injury. Eye
protection should bemarked Z87.
• Always wear foot p rotection. Do not
gobarefoot orwear sandals.
• Always wear respirator orface mask
when w orking with unit i ndusty e nvi-
ronments.
• Secure hair a bove s houlder length.
Secure orremove jewelry, loose
clothing, orclothing with loosely
hanging straps, ties, tassels, etc.
They c an becaught inmoving parts.
• Do not o perate unit w hen y ou are
tired, ill,upset, orifyou areunder the
influence ofalcohol, drugs, ormedic-
ation.
• Keep c hildren, bystanders, and ani-
mals a way f rom work a rea amini-
mum of30feet ( 10 meters) when
starting oroperating unit.Do not
point blower nozzle i nthe direction of
people orpets.
HANDLE FUEL W ITH CAUTION, ITIS
HIGHLY FLAMMABLE
• Eliminate allsources ofsparks or
flame ( including smoking, open
flames, orwork t hat c an cause
sparks) inthe areas w here f uel i s
mixed, poured, orstored.
• Mix and pour fuel inanoutdoor area;
store f uel inacool, dry, well ventilated
place; use anapproved, marked con-
tainer forall f uel purposes.
• Do not s moke while handling fuel or
while o perating the unit.
• Make sure the unit isproperly
assembled and ingood o perating
condition.
• Do not f illfuel t ank while engine is
running.
• Avoid s pilling fuel o roil.Wipe u pfuel
spills b efore starting engine.
• Move a tleast 10feet ( 3meters)
away f rom fuel a nd fueling site be-
fore starting engine.
• Always store g asoline inacontainer
approved forflammable liquids.
OPERATE YOUR U NIT SAFELY
_WARNING: S top t he engine be-
fore opening the vacuum i nlet door. The
engine must bestopped and the impel-
lerblades nolonger turning toavoid s e-
rious i njury from the rotating blades.
WARNING: While v acuuming
orblowing debris, hold the unit w ith
themuffler side facing a way f rom
your body a nd clothes.
• Inspect unit b efore each use for
worn, loose, missing, ordamaged
parts. Donot u se until unit i sin
proper working order.
• Keep o utside surfaces free from oil
and fuel.
• Never start orrun engine inside a
closed r oom, building orother un-
ventilated area. Breathing exhaust
fumes can kill.
• Toavoid s tatic e lectricity shock, do
not w ear r ubber gloves orany other
insulated gloves while operating unit.
• Do not s etunit onany surface except
aclean, hard a rea w hile e ngine isrun-
ning. Debris such a sgravel, sand,
dust, grass, etc. c ould b epicked upby
the airintake and thrown out t hrough
discharge opening, damaging unit,
property, orcausing serious injury to
bystanders oroperator.
• Avoid d angerous environments. Do
not u se inunventilated areas o r
where e xplosive vapors orcarbon
monoxide build upcould b epresent.
• Do not o verreach oruse from unsta-
ble surfaces such asladders, trees,
steep s lopes, rooftops, etc. K eep f irm
footing and balance atall t imes.
• Never place o bjects inside t he
blower tubes; always direct theblow-
ing debris away f rom people, ani-
mals, glass, and solid o bjects such
astrees, automobiles, walls, etc. T he
force o faircan cause r ocks, dirt, o r
sticks t obethrown ortoricochet
which c an hurt people oranimals,
break g lass, orcause o ther damage.
• Never run unit w ithout the proper
equipment attached. When u sing
your u nit a sablower, always install
blower tubes. When u sing t he op-
tional vacuum k it, a lways install vac-
uum tubes a nd vacuum b ag assem-
bly. Make s ure vacuum b ag assem-
bly iscompletely zipped.
