Ifyour u nit i stobestored foraperiod
oftime:
• Clean t he entire u nit b efore lengthy
storage.
• Store i naclean d ry area.
• Lightly oilexternal metal surfaces.
• We highly recommend
that y ou drain
the fuel tank prior tolengthy storage
(30 days o rmore). Drain a ll f uel f rom
the fuel t ank into the proper recep-
tacles forstorage.
• Press p urge b ulb 15times t ore-
move a ll f uel from carburetor
and
fuel l ine. Drain t his fuel i nto proper
receptacles.
Iffuel i stobedisposed,
please refer tolocal rules f orproper
disposal.
• Remove spark plug.
• Place 5 cc ofoilinto spark p lug hole.
Donot o verfill.
• Pull the starter rope s lowly 8 - 10
times t oproperly coat the cylinder
bore and piston forstorage. Replace
plug and tighten. Any residual oil
may burn off i nsubsequent
starts
which m ay result inwhite s moke
from the muffler.
• Store t he unit i nahorizontal
position
with the spark p lug up. D O NOT s tore
ortransport theunit w ith the spark
plug down.
CAUTION:
Storing unit in
over 10 degrees
NOTE:
Storing or transporting
the unit
with the spark plug down may result in
white smoke coming from the muffler
or difficult starting.
• When removing the unit from stor-
age, only use fresh gasoline.
Per-
form the routine operation
checks as
described
in this manual before any
start.
FUEL SYSTEM
Under ADD GASOLINE in the OPERA-
TION section of this manual, see mes-
sage labeled IMPORTANT
regarding
the use of gasohol
in your engine.
• Never use engine or carburetor
cleaner products in the fuel tank or
permanent
damage
may occur.
• Use fresh fuel next season.
ENGINE OIL
• Drain engine oil (with engine warm)
and replace with clean oil. See
CHANGE ENGINE OIL in the MAINTE-
NANCE section.
CYLINDER
• Replace spark plug with new one of
recommended
type and heat range.
OTHER
• Clean air filter.
• Check entire unit for loose screws,
nuts, and bolts. Replace any dam-
aged, broken, or worn parts.
• Do not store gasoline from one sea-
son to another.
• Replace your gasoline can if it starts
to rust.
