GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS
The warrantyonthis unitdoes not cov-
er itemsthathavebeensubjectedto
operatorabuseor negligence. T o re-
ceivefullvaluefrom the warranty, t he
operatormustmaintain unitas instruct-
ed in thismanual.Variousadjustments
willneed to be madeperiodically to
properlymaintain yourunit.
• Oncea year,replacethe spark plug,
air filterelement,and checkguidebar
and chainfor wear. A new sparkplug
and air filter elementassuresproper
air-fuelmixtureand helpsyour engine
runbetterand lastlonger.
WARNING: Disconnect t he spark plug
beforeperformlng maintenance except
for carburetor a djustments.

CHECK FOR DAMAGED OR
WORN PARTS
Replacement ofdamaged/worn parts
shouldbe referredto yourSears Ser-
viceCenter.
NOTE: It is normalfor a smallamount
of oilto appearunderthe saw after en-
ginestops.Do not confusethis witha
leakingoiltank.
• On/StopSwitch- EnsureOn/Stop
switch functions properlyby moving
the switchtothe "Stop" position.
Make sureenginestops;then restart
engineand continue.
• FuelTank- Discontinue use of chain
saw iffuel tankshowssignsof dam-
age or leaks.
• Oil Tank- Discontinue use of chain
saw if oiltankshowssignsof damage
or leaks.

sag. Releasetip of guidebar,then
turnadjusting screw1/4turnclock-
wise.Repeatthisstepuntilsag does
notexist.
, While lifting tip of guidebar,tighten
bar clampnutswiththe chainadjust-
menttool.Torqueto 10-15 ft-lbs.
