Required for VSS:
For pre- 1 0.0 versions of LeftHand OS software when status updates are desired.
If the application-managed snapshot was created by a client other than the current instance of the CMC (e.g., the
CLI, a schedule, etc.) and status updates are desired.
For Fibre Channel connection types
Unable to create application-managed snapshots for a locally mounted LeftHand volume when
the Application Aware Snapshot Manager is installed on a server that also has VMware vCenter
Server installed
Mount the LeftHand volume on a different server that is not running vCenter Server and perform
managed snapshots there.
SRA
SRA 10.0 and SRM 5.1 on Fibre Channel protocol
The 10.0 SRA for VMware SRM does not provide Fibre Channel support.
Issue with the VMware SRM 5.0 prevents it from working properly with HP LeftHand Storage
Replication Adapter Software for VMware vCenter SRM version 10.0
SRA version 10.0 will only work with SRM versions 5.0.1 and 5.1.
SRA version 9.5 will only work with SRM versions 5.0 and 5.1
If you run the SRA version 10.0 with SRM 5.0, the Recovery operation will not work and the SRM
services on the recovery site will stop working. There is no way to make the Recovery operation
work with SRM 5.0; this is a known issue in SRM 5.0 and was fixed by VMware in SRM 5.0.1.
You must uninstall the SRM and SRA on both the protected and recovery sites, and then install
the SRA version 10.0 and the SRM version 5.0.1 or version 5.1.
IP Address to Use
vCenter server IP address
Physical IP address of the server
hosting the VSS Provider
Physical IP address of each server
hosting a VSS Provider in the
Windows Failover Cluster. Since there
is likely more than one LeftHand OS
server object in a Windows Failover
Cluster, enter one physical IP address
(as just described) in each of the
related LeftHand OS server dialogs.
