REPLACING BAI"rERY
_CAUTION:
Do notshort battery
terminals by allowing a wrench or any
other object to contact both terminals at
the same time. Before connectk',gbattery,
remove metal bracelets, wristwatch
bands, rings, etc.
Positive terminal must be connected first
to prevent sparking from accidental
grounding.
1. Lift seat pan to raised position and
open battery box door.
2. Disconnect BLACK battery cable first
then RED battery cab)e and carefully
remove battery from tractor.
3. install new battery with terminals in
same position as old battery.
4. First connect RED battery cable to
positive (+) terminal with hex bolt and
keps nut as shown. Tighten securely.
5. Connect BLACK grounding cable to
negative (-) terminal with remaining
hex bolt and keps nut. Tighten
securely.
6. Close battery box door.

INTERLOCKS AND RELAYS
Loose or damaged wiringmay cause your
tractorto run poody,stop running, or
preventit from starting.
,, Check wiring. See electrical wiring
diagram in the Repair Parts section.
TO REPLACE FUSE
Replace with 15 amp automotive-type
plug-infuse. The fuse holderis legated
behind the dash.
TO REMOVE HOOD AND GRILL
ASSEMBLY
1. Raise hood.
2. Unsnap headlight wire connector.
3. Stand in front of tractor. Grasp hood
at sides, tilt toward engine and lift off
of tractor,
4. To replace, reverse above procedure.

TO REPLACE HEADLIGHT
BULB
1. Raise hood,
2. Pull bulb holder out of the hale in the
backside of the grill.
3. Replace bulb in holder and push
bulb holder securely back into the
hole in the backside of the grill.
4. Close hood.
ENGINE
Maintenance, repair, or replacement of
the emission control devices and
systems, which are being done at the
customers expense, may be performed
by any non-wad engine repair establish-
ment or individual Warranty repairs must
be performed by an authorized engine
manufacturer's service outlet,
TO ADJUST THROTTLE CONTROL
CABLE
The throttlecontrol h as beenpresetat the
factory and adjustment s houldnotbe
necessaly.Check adjustment as described
belowbefore leoseningcable. If adjustment
isnecessary,proceedas folbws:
1. Withenginenotrunning,movethmttfa
controlleverfrom slowto chokepe_len.
Slowlymove leverfrom choke tofast
position.
