Press VIDEO 2/LD so that the VIDEO 2 Indicator
lights up,

set VCR 2 to the playback mode.

Set VCR 1 to the recording mode.
1 Press SUR ON/OFF to ON.
2 Press SUR MODE to select the surround effect.
Each time
the button is pressed, the HALL, SIMULATED (STR-D611
only) or DOLBY mode is selected cyclically and the
respective indicator lights up.
3 When selecting the DOLBY mode in step 2, press PRO
LOGIC MODE to select the PRO LOGIC mode.
Two front and two rear speakers are necessary to enjoy the
surround function.
In the Dolby PRO LOGIC MODE, the
speaker operation mode can be selected according
to your
speaker configuration.

HALL: Provides reverberation
effect that is produced
in a
concert hall.
SIMULATED
(STR-D611 only): Gives a simulated stereo
effect to monaural sound.
DOLBY: Expands sound just like listening to in a movie
theater.

Note
When you wish to enjoy the surround function, set the
SPEAKERS A button or both A and B buttons to on. If only
the SPEAKERS B button is set to on (that is, the SPEAKERS
A button is set to off), the surround effect cannot be
obtained.
