FloatInstallation
The floatvalve is taped tothebottomof thecoolerto
avoidshipping d amage, ffthecooleris going to be
permanently i nstalled, a ttachthefloatto thesideof
front p anel i nsidethecabinet w ithholeprovided ( see
Figure 4 ). Connect c oppertubing from watersupply to
coolerandconnect t otube(fromfloat h ive)
protruding fromsideoffrontpanelusingferrule u nion
provided i nparts package.

1. Turnwatersupply on. Check forgoodpressure
and flowfromfloatvalve.
2. Whenfloatvalve shutsoff,checkwaterlevel.
Waterleveishouldbe fromI/2"to 1"below
top edge of overflow standl_ipe.
3. Adjust f loatvalvebybending the rod(see
Figure5).
Caution: To reduce
the risk of
electric
shock,
connectonly
to an outlet
provided
with
a gronndfault
circuit interrupting
device.
Caution: Do not allow pump
to topple
over and become
submerged;
water will
damage pump
motor.
Never wash your
cooler cabinet with a garden
hose; water may harm motor
ond pump or seep into
blower housing.
InstallBleed-off
Ableed-off system is provided
withyourMastercoul cooler.We
recommend the bleed-off be
installed and maintained w hile
operating this unit.Itspurposeis
to eliminate a smallquantity of
water frommdrculatioothus
reducing s calebuild-up. Install
bleed-offas f ollows: installI/4"
black plastic tubing intopomp as
shown in Figure6.
Insert3/16"blackplastictubing into1/4"tubing as
showninFigure 6.
Adjust b leed.off b yshortening 3/16"tubeto getthe
properbleedrateof80 secundsto filla 12 oz. can.
Disposal o fbleed-off watershouldcomply withlocal
codes.Useofchemical a dditives o r anywater
treatment otherthanbleed-off i s notrecommended
forthiscooler. F ailure t o usethebleed-off w ith
MastetCool pad greatly increases the mineral
depositsand reducesthe erpectod l ifeofthe
Mastercoul pad;and could result in early
replacement ofthe pad atyourexpense.

ofscouring pad isnot recommended. Rinsethepad
framewithfreshwater,ff reversing mediapad,
rinse padwithfreshwaterto remove as much
deposit b uild-upaspossible.
4. Lay newmediapadsin frame(or rotateold
padsand layin flame). Remember, the media
shouldbeplacedin framestartingatthe bottom
ensuring the edgeofthe padflamefitssnugly
intothe slotonthe bottomofthemedis.Thetop
ofthemediahasthe feltsurfaceandshouldfit
tigh_against thetrough.
5. Replace pad retainer following s amemethod
aswhenit wasremoved, e xceptincounter-clockwise
motion.
6. Pre-soak p ad andre-install mediapad frameinto
cooler.
7. Startpumpandallowtroughs t o fill.., checkwater
levelin troughs byslightly tilting eachpadframeout.
Regular M aintenance
Regular, carefulmaintenance w illallow youtoenjoya
long,moreefficient s ervice lifefromyourcooler.
Beforestarting anymaintenance o peration,read
thoroughly alloperating and maintenance i nstructions
and observe a llcautions and warnings.
Lubrication
Changing/Reversing

MediaPads
Your coolermediapadsshouldbechangedat least
every twoyears.Checkandcleanthematthe
beginning o f theseasonandcleanand reverse t hem
in the middle ofthe season.Your media padsmay
needto be changed morefrequently, depending on
localair andwaterconditions. Forinstance, i n areas
where mtheralcontent o fthewateris high,deposits
maybutldup in the coolermediarestric_ng a ir flow.
Replaee/reverse mediapadsasfollows:
1. Remove mediapadflamefromcabInet.
2. Carefully r emove the metal p ad retainer(use
pliersif
necessary) using
a clockwise
motion when
twisting the
retainer o ut(see
rgure 7).

from mediapad
frame. Wire

Blower s haftbearings needperiodiclubrication. Theoil
cupson the blower shaftbearingsshouldbefilledwith
a goodgradeSAt/20W or 30W otlwhenneeessary.
Under n ormaluse,oiling is requiredevery three
monthsofoperation.

Cleaning Water Pump
Disassemble a nd cleanwaterpumpasfollows(see
Figures 8 & 9):
1. Withpowersupplydisconnected, unplug pump cord.
2. Remove pump.
3. Toprevent b reakage, carefully release the foursnap-
outtabs,andliftimpeller baseplatefrom the pump
body.
4. Using a milddetergent sulution, w ashall deposits
from insidearoundimpellerandimpeller b aseplate.
