ARCING
If you see arcing,
press the CLEAR/OFF

Arcing
is tile inicrowave

oven. Arcing
is caused
by:
• Metal
or foil touching
the side of the oven.
• Foil not molded
to food
(upturned
edges
act like m_tennas).
• Metal,
such
as twist-ties,
poultry
pins
or
gold-rimmed
dishes
in the microwave.
• Recycled
paper
towels
containing
small
metal
pieces
being
used
in the
microwave.
FOODS
• Operating
the microwave
with no food inside
for more
than a minute
or two may cause
damage
to the oven and could
start a fire.
It increases
tile heat around
tile magnetron
and
can shorten
tile lite of tile oven.
• Hot foods
and steam
can cause burns.
Be careful
when
opening
any containers
(if
hot ti)od,
including
popcorn
bags, cooking
pouches
and boxes.
To prevent
possible

and thce.
, Foods
with unbroken
outer
"skin" such as
potatoes,
sausages,
tomatoes,
apples,
chicken
livers and
other

egg yolks shouhl
be pierced
to allow steam

• Do not overcook
potatoes.

could
dehydrate
and
catch
fire, causing
damage
to

• Some
products
such as whole
eggs and
sealed

closed jars--
are able
to explode
and
should

oven.
