with your system for additional information.
NOTE:
Illustrations in this document may show modules or a chassis
that differ from your device. However, replacement procedures
are the same for all chassis that use this component.

  • Page 2: Verifying Component Failure

    The power UID is located on the front of the disk enclosure. Remove all cabling from the rear of the enclosure. Ensure all cabling is marked to facilitate re-cabling later. WARNING! A disk enclosure fully populated is heavy. Prior to removing the enclosure from the rack, remove each disk and label it with its bay number.
  • Page 3 Separate the drive cage from the chassis. Remove the front UID. Disconnect all cables from the backplane. Remove the T-10 screw securing the bezel to the chassis ear and let the black bezel separate from the ear. Remove the T-10 screw securing the interconnect board to the bezel and lift the interconnect board away from the bezel.

    Secure the drive cage to the chassis. Reinstall the enclosure in the rack. Slide the drive cage in position, aligning the keyhole openings on the bottom flange of the drive cage with the guideposts on WARNING! the bottom of he chassis, and replace the six T-10 screws. Reinstall the drives in the same slot locations.
