Introduction
This document describes how to install the HP Z200 and Z210, Z400, and xw4000 series
Workstations into a rack mount tray. It also describes how to mount the workstation-tray assembly into
a rack.

    Step 1—Preparing the workstation NOTE: All illustrations are examples only. Workstation models vary. For product-specific information, see the service guide for your HP workstation at http://www.hp.com/support/manuals before beginning installation. To prepare the workstation for component installation: Power down the workstation, and then disconnect the power cord. Power down all external devices, and then disconnect them from the workstation.
  • Page 4 Step 3—Attaching the rack mount tray to the workstation Using a T-15 Torx screwdriver, remove the indicated chassis screw (1), if present, from the rear of the workstation. Some workstation models do not use the chassis screw as shown. Figure 2 Removing the chassis screws To prepare the tray: Select the adapter bracket with the label that matches your workstation model.
  • Page 5 To install the workstation on the tray: Guide the front bezel of the workstation under the lip of the adapter bracket (1). Rotate the back of the workstation down onto the tray (2). Tighten the single, black rear captive screw (3), to secure the rear of the workstation into the tray.

  • Page 8 HP Depth-Adjustable Fixed Rails Rack Option Kit installation instructions Introduction The HP Depth-Adjustable Fixed Rails Rack Option Kit allows the user to install depth-adjustable fixed rails in racks from 19 inches (48.26 cm) to 31 inches (78.74 cm) in depth. Once installed, these depth- adjustable fixed rails can be used to support a variety of rack-mountable devices.

  • Page 10 Install cage nuts into the rear locations of the rack that best align with the bottom two holes at the rear of the depth-adjustable fixed rail, ensuring they are installed level with the front. Insert two screws through each depth-adjustable fixed rail and into the cage nuts installed earlier, securing the rail to the rear of the rack.
